REGISTRATION OF FIRMS

   .

       Procedure for applying firm Registration.

      Application for firm registration in FORM 1 is to be submitted to the registrar where the firm is located or proposed to be located.

      The filled up application form with declaration signed by all partners or their agents specially authorised in his behalf in the presence of a witness or witnesses who must be either Gazetted Officer, Advocate, Attorney, Vakil, Honorary Magistrate, Chartered Accountant, Income Tax Practitioner or Registered State Auditor.

       In the firm name the usage of words such as India, Kerala, Bharath, Bank, Bankers, Crown, Emperor, Emprise, Empire, Imperial, King, Queen, Royal etc or Government approved undertaking , sponsored etc.have been prohibited unless Government issued Orders in this regard.

      Along with application the following are to be enclosed.

       a. Registration fee Rs.5/-

      b. Declaration in the presence of a witness or witnesses, either Gazetted Officer, Advocate, Attorney, Vakil, Honorary Magistrate, Chartered Accountant, Income Tax Practitioner or Registered State Auditor..

      c. Deed executed in Rs. 1000/- stamp paper.

      d. Attest all pages of the deed either by Gazetted Officer, Advocate, Attorney, Vakil, Honorary Magistrate, Chartered Accountant, Income Tax Practitioner or Registered State Auditor.

      The application can be submitted through Post or directly to the Registrar of firms located at the Office of Inspector General of Registration, Department of Registration, Vanchiyoor, Near collectorate, Thiruvananthapuram. Teephone- 0471-2472118, 2472110.

       Procedure for alteration in Firm Name and Principle Place of Business

      1. Declaration as per the rule 58 of the act stating the change of Firm Name / Principle Place of business along with fees prescribed are to be submitted to the registrar.

       2. After ascertaining the changes noted in the declaration, the registrar file the declaration submitted and amend firm registration accordingly as per rule 59 of the act.
